What data we collect
- Your name and profile photo — pulled from Strava when you connect your account.
- GPS activity data — streamed from Strava to detect RouteGem catches. GPS coordinates are processed in real time and not stored.
- Caught gems — when your route passes a RouteGem, we record which gem you caught, when, and whether you redeemed its reward.
Why we collect it
We use your data solely to operate Routeroo: to detect when your Strava activity passes a RouteGem, to award catches, and to show your profile and stats.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your name, profile photo, and all caught gems are permanently removed from our systems.
Your rights
You can manage your data at any time from your profile page:
- Disconnect Strava — stops Routeroo from tracking future activities. Your existing catches are kept.
- Delete your account — permanently removes your account and all associated data. This cannot be undone.
Analytics and reporting
We may use anonymised, aggregated data (such as popular RouteGem locations or overall catch statistics) for internal analytics and reporting to business partners. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Third parties
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Routeroo uses Strava's API to receive activity data; their use of your data is governed by Strava's Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
Routeroo is not responsible for any injury, accident, or damage that occurs during physical activities while using the app. Always follow traffic rules and exercise safely.
